BECK NISON

she/they

hypnotherapist, ceremonial artist, writer, multidisciplinary artist, educator, collaborator, curious citizen of the world

I'm the author and illustrator of If We'd Never Seen the Sea. My fiction, poetry, and non-fiction have been published in a number of magazines and journals.

As a part-time assistant professor at Parsons School of Design, I teach students the power of discovering their voices through writing. I received my MFA in Creative Writing/Fiction from The New School and my BFA in Creative Writing, with a minor in Visual Arts, from Emerson College.

I recently trained in Usui Reiki Levels 1 and 2 with Aki Hirata-Baker and Manu del Prete. I will be studying hypnotherapy with Shauna Cummins at the Divine Feminine School of Hypnosis in 2021.

Byrdcliffe AiR Spotlight

"Becca Nison is a maker, word crafter, and investigator of sensations within the self and surroundings. Lavender in a treasure chest, mint leaves refracting light from a water vase, abundant colors tiling the floor - Becca's sensitive exploration of the physical world adds an element of eloquence to raw reality. Looking inward and outward, the body becomes a sensational landscape; the belly button as a portal, anatomy as arching curves, fingers and toes as delicate grounding points."
